about this body of work:

Recently, I fell in love with this medium, alcohol inks. Freeing and frustrating at the same time. I am pushing the medium to play nice with acrylics and we are winning. The ink on its own is mysterious and ever changing, it devours itself when more is added. I find the tension between the acrylics and the inks together to be beautiful. The goal is to use the paintbrush as little as possible in creating these works on Yupo paper. The creative process is to let the mediums dictate the movement and flow. Heavy bodied acrylics and transparent mediums are combined to build texture - the fluid inks float in and around the paper - until I've decided the dialog between artist and art have spoken.
